About The Event

This workshop will begin with a flowing Hatha yoga class to prepare our bodies and minds for the deep restful relaxation of Yoga Nidra. “Nidra” is the Sanskrit word for sleep and involves the practitioner being guided through a variety of relaxation techniques. It is said that 20 minutes of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to around 2-4 hours of regular sleep. It involves lying down and being guided through a relaxation until you reach a state just before sleep, where you are floating between being awake and in sleep. It is really beneficial for helping with stress, anxiety and depression. It is also great if you're someone who has trouble with sleep. You are sure to come out feeling bright and refreshed. Personally it has helped me overcome a lot of anxiety and has helped me get back into a regular and restful sleeping pattern which has done me the world of good. We will begin with a short meditation followed by a Hatha yoga class suitable for all levels, we will then finish with a restful yoga Nidra.
