About The Event

Supporting male mental health

1 in 6 people in the UK will experience a common mental health condition such as Depression & Anxiety in their own lifetime, yet if this is noticed and caught early and worked with, the condition may rarely become anything more serious and often just fade away over time. Quite often people report hugely positive life transformations that these conditions can offer.

Without the tools to deal with life and our minds and emotions effectively, things like Depression & Sadness for some can become a terrible experience, often presenting as mysterious and sometimes debilitating mental health condition. However if understood as an important catalyst for positive change, depression can become an incredible teacher. It shows us that our approach to our own self, or the way we are living our lives and the decisions we are making may not be nourishing our own being.

In this men’s circle we will explore what depression is and what we can do to meet it more holistically, we will look at how we can work with it as a tool for positive growth and change.

About the host

Your group facilitator Graeme Waterfield has been through Depression and Anxiety himself which led him into a holistic journey of healing and understanding using his existing background in meditation and psychology.

Graeme has a 25 year background of working in mental health and has been a lead facilitator for MIND running both their in house Depression and Anxiety management training as well as delivering Mental health awareness training for other organisations such as the NHS.

Graeme brings a grounded but holistic approach to positive mental health training for men, drawing on his background as a Counsellor, Yoga, Tai Chi & Meditation teacher.

Working with and healing through a condition like depression can be easier than we think with meditation techniques, positive psychology, good lifestyle choices & self awareness.

During this workshop Graeme will share his experience after 25 years of work with himself and other people with this condition. And the workshop is tailored to men who may just be interest in knowing more about working with problematic emotions more effectively, through to those who have family members or friends with this condition and of course anyone suffering from mild to medium depressive symptoms themselves.

This will be a nurturing and sometimes uplifting safe space in which you will learn healing techniques and share stories about this condition.
